Creativity is not just for authors and
painters of master pieces. We are all artists, and the more we connect with our
inner artist aka our creative side, then the more we will be in touch with our
true nature, our authentic desires and dreams. This
is not something that some people are good at and others not so much. It’s
something that we must work on, feed water to like we would a garden. The more
we invest in this garden and maintaining it’s health the more nourishment it
will provide.
Some ways to start the flow of creativity:
you have been wanting to go to, a car that you
never dreamed you would ever get, a picture of a couple hugging or being in
love, a baby, what ever your dreams and wishes are, put them on this board.
Also, using words and phrases from magazines can be a great way to motivate you
and express your dreams. Put the dream board somewhere that you will see it and
when you look at it feel the feelings you think you would have if it all came
true. Be careful what you wish for because it just might come true!
Meditate
Even if it is just 5
minutes a day! There are so many meditation apps that you can download on your
computer or phone, or you can simply sit in a comfortable position for 5
minutes with your eyes closed. The idea is not to have thoughts. The goal is to
not get hooked into these thoughts. Let them pass by without analyzing them,
just let them go. You can set the alarm on your phone for 5 minutes and
even a reminder alarm to do the meditation every day.
Journal
Every day for 15
minutes, preferably in the morning, empty out your brain. Write about
anything and everything, from your to do list, your worries, the car you need
to fix, this is a great way to make some space in your mind for fresh thoughts,
ahhh doesn’t that sound nice?!
Exercise
Whether its yoga, kick
boxing, dancing, or the gym. Working out is an amazing way
to reduce stress in our lives and stress is
the number one enemy of creativity.
Go for a walk
A
short 5 minute walk should do the trick.
By taking time to
do these small exercises we can create the story of our lives rather than our
lives being something that is happening to us. Give it a try!
